We may not yet know when the six Major League Lacrosse teams will take the field for the league’s 20th anniversary season, but we now know what the teams uniforms will look like. On Monday, the MLL revealed the look of its six teams, including the newest teams joining the league, the Philadelphia Barrage and Connecticut Hammerheads.
The league’s uniforms are once again designed by New Balance, with the teams debuting the new New Balance Shakedown jerseys. The jerseys are made from moisture-wicking material said to be “inspired by NASA’s heat shield protection on space shuttles” and will be much lighter than jerseys of the past.
The most notable designs are the Connecticut Hammerheads, who opted to not use a white jersey and instead go with blue and yellow uniforms for their home and away kits during their inaugural season. The Philadelphia Barrage went with a more traditional look that is nearly identical to the uniforms the wore from 2005 to 2008. As for the other four teams, their uniforms remained mostly the same with a few minor updates, such as the Boston Cannons adding small stars to their uniforms and Denver Outlaws adding a gradient stripe to their shorts.
What are your thoughts on the 2020 MLL team uniforms? Which team is your favorite?
