Waterdogs LC: Keep the Roster Together
The defending PLL champs resolution should be to keep this roster together. They’re a very tight group and just won the 2022 PLL championship, so why change it? The goal for the Dogs should be to keep this roster the same and try to build through the draft. Dillon Ward, Kieran McArdle and Steve DeNapoli are among the Waterdogs’ biggest free agents and Andy Copelan should do everything in his power to keep those guys in purple.
Dillon Ward might be the best goalie in the world right now and was phenomenal in the playoffs for the Dogs. Kieran McArdle had an MVP-caliber season in 2022 and finished with 53 points in 13 games. Keeping Ward and McArdle is the top priority for Copelan. Another free agent I think they should bring back is Steve DeNapoli. He’s been with the Dogs since year one and is the captain and leader of the Waterdogs. If he doesn’t retire, keeping DeNapoli will be very impactful for the Waterdogs’ hopes of repeating in 2023.
