Redwoods LC: Build Chemistry and Implement a New Offense

The Redwoods offense could look drastically different in 2023. Not only did the team trade away Matt Kavanagh this offseason, it recently added John Grant Jr. to their coaching staff, naming him their new offensive coordinator. This was a GREAT hire for the Woods. Having a Hall of Famer on the sideline will give a spark to an offense that had some bad stretches last year despite being very talented.
According to Joe Keegan, the Redwoods finished last in two-man rate (20.4 percent) and last in two-man shotting percentage (25.7 percent) in 2022. Grant Jr. will certainly look to change this and his biggest task will be building an offense that compliments returning players like Rob Pannell, Charlie Bertrand, Jules Heningburg and Ryder Garnsey, as well as any free agents the team targets in March. Could Ryan Lee, who played with and was coached by Grant Jr. on the Denver Outlaws, return in 2023? Or could we see an Ohio Machine reunion with Marcus Holman teaming up with Nat St. Laurent on the Woods? If the Redwoods are able to replace the pieces they may lose in free agency and really lock into building chemistry, I think the skies the limit for this new offense.
