PLL College Draft – Round 2

9. Chaos* – Xander Dickson (A/M)

10. Redwoods – Payton Rezanka (SSDM)

11. Atlas – Tye Kurtz (A/M)

12. Waterdogs* – Garrett Leadmon (M)

13. Archers – Mike Sisselberger (FO)

14. Whipsnakes – Alex Mazzone (LSM)

15. Cannons* – Alex Simmons (A/M)

16. Waterdogs – Kyle Long (M)

TRADE: Cannons trade 9th overall pick to Chaos for 15th and 17th overall picks

If Coach Andy Towers could trade up in the first round, I think he would. Yet, I don’t see any team willing to strike a deal in the first round. However, a team that could be inclined to trade a second rounder to acquire a couple more draft picks is the Cannons.

Coach Brian Holman spoke about trading down in order to acquire more draft picks and after the Chrome swoop in and take the last of the top defenders in this draft, they strike a deal with Chaos to move down and acquire picks 15 and 17. Andy Towers spoke of his comfortability with his current stable of defenders and after taking the best player available in Owen Grant at pick seven, he gets aggressive and trades two of his picks to move up and select Connecticut native Xander Dickson at pick nine.

Redwoods fill their need at SSDM by taking the best d-mid available in Payton Rezanka. After missing out on Xander Dickson, Atlas grab Delaware sharpshooter Tye Kurtz and Waterdogs follow up by drafting the two-handed Garrett Leadmon. Archers take the first faceoff specialist off the board and select Mike Sisselberger.

Rather than also draft a faceoff man this round, Coach Jim Stagnitta is elated to see Hopkins LSM Alex Mazzone fall to him at pick 14 and the Cannons use the first of their newly acquired picks to draft midfielder Alex Simmons. Waterdogs wrap up the second round taking Maryland midfielder Kyle Long.
