Recapping the top MLL draft picks from the past 20 years

Paul Rabil was drafted by the Boston Cannons and after leaving the MLL to start the PLL in 2019, remains second in scoring in MLL history.

2008

Paul Rabil – Boston Cannons

Paul Rabil became perhaps the biggest name in lacrosse history after his career at Johns Hopkins. Rabil won two MVP awards and won two championships during his time in MLL. Rabil eventually split from MLL to start his own professional lacrosse league, the PLL. Despite this, Rabil left his mark on MLL, ranking second all-time in goals and helping to elevate the league during his time with the Boston Cannons and New York Lizards.

Matt Danowski – New Jersey Pride

Matt Danowski joined MLL out of Duke University. Danowski scored a staggering 405 points in 123 games in MLL. He also appeared in three playoff seasons scoring 14 points. Following the 2018 season, Danowski joined Chrome LC of the PLL.

2009

Kenny Nims – Chicago Machine

Kenny Nims had an outstanding career at Syracuse University, scoring 185 points in 62 games. He went first overall to the Chicago Machine in the 2009 draft and had stints with the Machine and Toronto/Hamilton Nationals.

Max Seibald – Denver Outlaws

After being drafted second overall by Denver, Max Seibald went on to have a long and illustrious career with the Outlaws, Lizards and Cannons. Seibald was the first Tewaaraton award winner to come out of Cornell and carried that success with him to the professional level. After scoring 229 points in just over 100 games at the professional level, Seibald retired following the 2018 season.
