PLL Week 1: Players to Watch

Cannons LC vs. Archers LC

Cannons: Asher Nolting (A)

Lyle Thompson won’t be suiting up for the Cannons this season, and that puts further onus on second-year attackman Asher Nolting to take the next step in his career. The former High Point superstar finished fourth among rookies in scoring a year ago, and he’ll have even more responsibility this season.

He’ll also have a pair of veteran stars to play off of after the additions of Marcus Homan and Matt Kavanagh in free agency. Nolting will be the quarterback of this team, and he’ll have his hands full against a formidable Archers defense.

Archers: Mac O’Keefe (A)

One of the most dynamic duos in college lacrosse history is back. Grant Ament and Mac O’Keefe torched Big Ten defenses for years at Penn State, and now they’re together again in the PLL.

Archers replaced Will Manny with O’Keefe in free agency. This is the young sharpshooter’s first real opportunity to start as a professional. On a loaded Chaos team, O’Keefe never got a full time starting spot.

Next to his old running mate on the Archers attack line, though, O’Keefe could become one of the most lethal goal scorers in the league.
