#2 Denver Outlaws vs #3 Boston Cannons
The MLL semi-finals were capped off by a juggernaut battle between the Denver Outlaws and Boston Cannons.
Kyle Jackson (1 goal) started the scoring with a goal off a pass from Zed “Zeddy Ballgame” Williams (4 goals, 1 assist). This started the Boston Cannons’ quick 5-1 run and eventually led to their 7-3 lead after one quarter.

The second quarter saw Boston maintain their lead after trading goals with the Outlaws and eventually going up 11-7 with less than 5 minutes left in the half. Yet, a late rally by the Outlaws would close the gap to 12-10 with the quarter approaching its end. However, the Cannons would regain some momentum with a last-second goal by Mark Cockerton (1 goal, 1 assist) before halftime.

The game was as tight as ever going into halftime with 13 shots, two saves, 22 ground balls and an 11-23 faceoff percentage for the Outlaws and 14 shots, three saves, 24 groundballs and a 12-23 percentage for the Cannons. The start of the second half saw a controversial call waive off a crease dive goal from Zach Currier (3 goals, 2 assists) and then a goal by Cal Dearth (4 goals) give the Cannons a four-goal lead.
However, things for Boston began to unravel when Kyle Denhoff and Kyle Jackson both went down with injuries and Denver finished the quarter with a 4-goal run to tie it 14-14, including a three from the 44-year-old wonder John Grant Jr. (5 goals).

In the fourth quarter, the teams would trade goals to bring the score to 15-15 before Chris Aslanian (4 goals, 1 assist) and Zach Currier put two more in net to give the Outlaws the 17-15 lead and eventual win.
The story of the game was John Grant Jr., whose 5 goals propelled the Outlaws to their fourth consecutive MLL championship appearance and gave Grant Jr. a shot at his sixth Steinfeld Cup.

The Denver Outlaws will face the Chesapeake Bayhawks at 1pm ET on Sunday, October 6 on ESPN 2.
