Cockerton leads Cannons over Lizards in a close contest

New York Lizards at Boston Cannons

New York had no time to lament their Friday night loss, as they traveled to Quincy, MA to take on the Boston Cannons on Saturday. Despite the close affair, the Lizards’ defense had no answer for Boston’s Mark Cockerton. Last year’s Offensive Player of the Year tallied six goals on eight shots. The Cannons were able to hold off a late fourth quarter rally by the Lizards for their first victory of the season.

New York’s Rob Pannell was able to find the back net (2G, 2A) after being shut out the previous evening. The Lizards will have to wait two weeks before returning to action, when they take on the Chesapeake Bayhawks back home in Hempstead, NY on June 15.
