Will Bowen, Georgetown (Defense)
Best Landing Spots: Atlas, Redwoods, Chaos
I’m extremely bullish on Georgetown’s Will Bowen. He’s the type of defenseman that teams are always looking to add. Bowen brings imposing size — 6-foot-3-inches, 230 pounds — and impeccable athleticism to the close defense position.
If you were designing the perfect defenseman in a laboratory, it probably looks a lot like Bowen. The 2022 Schmeisser Award winner could fit into any roster in the PLL and immediately compete for a starting role.
Cannons are once again the team with the clearest starting spot for Bowen but won’t be in position to snag him. Atlas could add him with one of its two picks in the top three, and Bowen’s connection to new Atlas defensive coordinator Kevin Unterstein during their days at North Carolina make Atlas the obvious fit. Redwoods could also opt to add the best player available with the second pick and add another physical defenseman to their group.
Although he’s unlikely to fall out of the top five, Chaos could be a sneaky good landing spot for Bowen as well. Jack Rowlett— an assistant coach at Georgetown — anchors a strong unit, but Bowen could be a true number two and free up Jarrod Neumann and Johnny Surdick to play different roles.
