The first ever Premier Lacrosse League free agency period is just a week away! On March 6, players whose contracts expired in 2022 will be able to sign with any of the eight teams in the league. A full list of this year’s free agents can be found on the PLL’s website.
While we don’t expect too many major moves, our staff put together a list of free agency moves that we hope to see next week!
Mac O’Keefe signs with Archers LC
The Archers could see more than a few offensive players depart in free agency with Marcus Holman, Will Manny and Connor Fields being some of the biggest names set to hit free agency (more on all of them later.)
So, will the Archers look to add a free agent attackman?
I think they will and there’s no better fit than Mac O’Keefe. Not only has Mac O’Keefe had success as a pro so far (29 points in two seasons), he’s done so running from the box. If O’Keefe is looking for an expanded role on a new team, the Archers would be a great fit. Not only would the move reunite him with fellow Penn State alum Grant Ament, he’d also be going to another offense that utilizes the two-man game a ton. While we could see fellow lefties Manny and Fields sign elsewhere, I think Mac O’Keefe would still be a great fit even if one of them decides to re-sign with Archers.
