Daniel Bucaro signs with Chrome LC
The Chrome are one of the few teams that have very few needs and with only a handful of potential free agents, Coach Tim Soudan’s sights will likely be set on re-signing players instead of adding a free agents from other teams.
With that said, there is one free agent in particular that I think would fit in well and provide depth on offense at worst or starter-level production at best. That player is Daniel Bucaro.
You’re probably looking at the Chrome’s roster and scratching your head wondering why Chrome would add another attackman/midfielder. Yet, one big question heading into this season is how much will 2022 Rookie of the Year Brendan Nichtern’s military commitments prevent him from playing this summer. If Nichtern is expected to miss significant time, we will likely see Jackson Morrill take his place at X—a spot he’s more than capable of thriving in. Yet, it wouldn’t hurt to have a little more insurance in the form of the 2020 MLL Rookie of the Year.
If Morrill starts at attack, Bucaro can run from the box with ease and gives the Chrome another threat from up top. If Soudan wants to mix things up, Bucaro can just as easily run from X as well and quarterback this offense. His versatility makes him a great fit skill-wise and his personality makes him arguably an even better fit on this close-knit Chrome team.
