Marcus Holman and Will Manny sign with Redwoods LC
The Redwoods are a team that will be looking to upgrade on offense and new offensive coordinator John Grant Jr. will undoubtedly be looking to add one or two pieces. Could he and head coach Nat St. Laurent target a former teammate/player from their Ohio Machine days?
Coach St. Laurent hasn’t been shy when it comes to acquiring players and he’s spoken about his relationship with Marcus Holman in the past. Holman is one of the top free agents available and while many think he could end up on the Cannons with his father and new head coach Brian Holman, I think the Woods could be the better fit.
There are few teams that have openings at both righty AND lefty attack, but the Redwoods fit the bill. While lefty Ryder Garnsey is still on the roster, I don’t think his presence hinders both Holman and Manny from choosing to join fellow veteran attackman Rob Pannell on the Redwoods. With Junior in charge of the offense, two-man wing play will factor heavily into their scheme and the duo of Holman and Manny would make an offense that at the least will feature Pannell, Sergio Perkovic, Jules Heningburg and Charlie Bertrand that much more potent.
